FIRST 5-STAR CAMPING ON THE FRENCH RIVIERA
It is now possible to find “5 star” campsites in France. Since the 1st of July 2010, the Ministry of Tourism in France has introduced a new ‘outdoor-hoteling’ grading scale. This scale includes a list of 204 criteria, compared the previous 103. Esterel Caravaning was the first campsite on the French Riviera to receive the distinction of being a”5-star” camp site.
Big news : quality criteria are now taken into account (presence of a swimming pool, a centre of well-being, cleanliness, the use of foreign languages by staff …). This new classification focuses on three major areas: equipment and facilities, client services, accessibility and sustainability.
The validation of this 5-star ranking for campsites in France is obtained from the regional Prefecture and is valid for five years.
Esterel Caravaning was the first campsite in the Var region to receive this award which recognizes the work of the whole team. A logical evolution that rewards our professionalism and wonderful amenities and our 35 years of service.

For those who are a bit more active, Esterel Caravaning offers hiking in the Esterel, you can go scuba diving in the blue waters of the Mediterranean, organise a round of golf on the Valescure course, be tempted by horse riding … Not a dull moment on the 5-star camping in Saint-Raphael!
From our campsite, you can go to St. Tropez by boat from Saint Raphael. Esterel Caravaning to Saint-Tropez = 1 hour! The Gulf of Saint-Tropez and its villages are about twenty kilometres from our campsite, a visit not to miss from our 5-star camp site in the South of France.
On the accommodation side, our new generation mobile homes have the best equipment for your comfort. Another 5-star criteria for pitch hire is that campsites must offer a minimum pitch size of 80m² and it should not contain more than 70 pitches per hectare. At Esterel Caravaning you can stay on pitches measuring up to 200m² and we have 35 pitches per hectare.
A permanent guard is mandatory on a 5-star campsite. Wash blocks and showers must be heated and living spaces should be bigger than on 4-star campsites.
